Providing compassionate care has always been a priority of Lauren Lobaugh, MD, who received her medical doctorate from University of Texas at Houston and is currently completing her Anesthesia Residency at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Recently her approach to patient care has shifted to include a renewed focus on patient safety. Dr. Lobaugh serves as the chair of the education committee for the regional QIPS Council. Motivated from her experience at a national patient safety roundtable in Telluride, CO, Dr. Lobaugh, along with the QIPS council, created Wine & Wisdom. This educational event is focused on sharing the importance of patient safety to the healthcare community in a relaxed setting.
In addition to QIPS Council, Dr. Lobaugh serves as a resident representative on several committees at Medstar Georgetown Hospital including the Center for Patient Safety Education Division Committee, the Ethics Committee, the Transplant Ethics Committee, and the Graduate Medical Education Committee. Her leadership and dedication to serving her hospital community continues to make a positive impact across the Medstar community.
After residency, she will continue her commitment to patient safety as Fellow of Pediatric Anesthesia.
