Ruben Khan, MD is a passionate advocate for patient safety and quality improvement at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Receiving both his Bachelor of Science degree as well as his Doctor of Medicine degree at Georgetown, he has been pivotal at increasing awareness and efforts in the patient safety programs in the Georgetown community.

He was the first student during his second year of medical school to become a part of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), Georgetown Chapter. He recruited more medical students into the collaborative group and participated in multiple projects.

He continues his efforts as a resident, being the only house staff member of the Department of Medicine Quality and Safety Committee and providing faculty with a resident's perspective.
