Samuel Kallus MD is a board certified recent graduate from Medstar Georgetown University Hospital’s Internal Medicine residency program and is currently doing his Chief Resident year at the Washington DC Veteran Affairs Medical Center.

After completing his Bachelor of Science from McGill University in Montreal, he received his medical doctorate from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Current interests include optimizing systems approaches to complex medical issues and improving communication among the patient centered healthcare team.

His experience at the National Patient Safety round table in Telluride, CO further enhanced his motivation to further develop and accept patient safety in Medstar Georgetown as well as the Veteran Affairs Hospital.

In addition to the QIPS council, Dr. Kallus is the internal medicine representative on the Georgetown Hospital House Staff Quality Council and is currently enrolled in a year-long program for Chief Residents in Quality and Patient Safety, geared towards redesigning medical education and patient care focusing on patient safety.

After his chief resident year, Dr. Kallus will be starting his fellowship training in Gastroenterology at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.
